Concert Band: The First Twenty-five Years
began as a
project to only document the history of how Clark Haines orchestrated the
move of the
Dayton Concert
Band to the Dayton Philharmonic Concert Band.
Twenty years
of documentation have evolved into a book with over 50 color pictures.
The book also
includes concert dates, sites, guest soloists, guest conductors, programs,
personnel and an extensive bibliography.
Clark Haines
was an extremely motivating, influential person. His impact on music
in the Dayton, Ohio area and beyond was extraordinary.
Every time
I spoke with him he asked, “How’s the book coming?”
The book is
finally done and is respectfully dedicated to Clark J. Haines.
The cost of
the book is $30.00.
Proceeds will
go toward the cost of publishing and the ministry of the New Carlisle Church
of the Brethren.
