Joe + Patriots = Donuts

Joe won the Superbowl prediction contest and
won a dozen donuts (chosen especially for him) and
8 bottles of juice.   Being the great guy he is, Joe shared
his prize with the whole class!  Marjorie was a close 2nd
(despite her prediction of the winning team scoring 25
touchdowns!!!)   We also decided that, in the grand
scheme of life, football is just something that distracts us
for a few hours.  There is much more we can do to make
the world a better place.   We discovered that the Church of the
Brethren nationwide participates in the annual SOUPER Bowl
(where congregation members donate one dollar each on the way
out of church on Superbowl Sunday to help feed the needy.)
Might be something we can try next year. . .
We also took a test to determine if we are GIVERS or TAKERS.
We found out that we give a lot more than we thought.
And we learned that everyone in the class watches the
Superbowl for one thing - the commercials!
